OnionsA Poem by VerinTears roll down soft cheeks Falling from a quivering chin Soaking a shaking shoulder Drops of liquid emotion Feelings swirl in their minds Happiness for all that’s past Misery for the long days aheadTears roll down soft cheeks Falling from a quivering chin Soaking a shaking shoulder Drops of liquid emotion
Feelings swirl in their minds Happiness for all that’s past Misery for the long days ahead Helpless frustration
Blue eyes stare pleadingly “Just let them stay It wasn’t enough time We can part some other day”
For a moment the crying stops Promises are exchanged Yet hearts already ache A memorable quote is all it takes “Parting is such sweet sorrow” And tears run anew
This time there is laughter Nervous giggles One last moment of joy
Glancing at one another Adoring smiles are shared Before trembling lips meet
The kiss stays with you Soft, sweet, a little messy But a cherished memory From when goodbyes were said
