Eleven Eleven

Eleven Eleven

A Poem by Verin
"

One of many love poems out there.

"

Eleven eleven has come and gone

I did the usual, I made my wish

Others want fortune or fame

But all I wish for is a cure

What’s needed to cure this ache

A blind kiss in the dark

From lips that I savor

Or a loving voice

It’s tone and words keep me sane

It’s so long past the wishing hour

I’m starring at a photograph

As I do my breathing slows

I do my best to take it in

Something rare happens

Happiness floats into my mind

A fragile smile forms; breakable but genuine

The photo is of a boy and girl

In a garden smiling together

Framed and taken not long ago

Standing on a cluttered desk

It carries a warming glow

And gets me through lonesome nights
