Flower

Flower

A Poem by Verin

A flower plucked

Before its bloom

Removed from those buds

Being a bud itself

Cutoff and alone

A virgin singularity

Placed in a crystal tower

Blooming and unfurling

A natural spectacle

In an artificial setting

Momentarily beautiful

But only for a blink

Shorter than most

Removed from

The bunch

Picked and admired

Loved even

Set to die a little sooner

All because love

Reached out to take hold of it

Torn from its world

Never to know its origin

But still blooming

Striving for life
