A Deceitful DoveA Poem by CameronAppearances deceive
Circling my head up above,
Is a pure, snow white dove. In a graceful arc he lands on my bed, I listen attentively to the words he said. "You were never meant to find love 'tis true, So if this is true why did you think there was love for you?" I shook my head from left to right, Wishing the bird would just take flight. At the foot of my bed he began to pace, He then asked "Don't you know you're place?" Then I noticed strung to his foot, it looked like paper covered in soot. I took it from his leg in a single motion, When I seen who it was, sorrow hit me like an ocean. With a grin set upon his jaw, He flew away white without flaw. But all of a sudden white fell from his back, And soon he circled my head pure black. I looked at her again with her hair of gold, And with her eyes that leave her pain untold. So who wanted so badly that we be apart, Not knowing what it did to my heart. I looked at the bird and his face was the same, As the man that I know the wretched name. Gone away from me, now to misery. © 2012 CameronAuthor's Note
