Serpent

Serpent

A Poem by Dreamwaker

Serpent

I look, there he is
The serpent dressed in black
Staring straight at me
I move into the shadows
But they withdraw
Is this the end,
Betrayed by a friend?

Serpent in veil,
Serpent in shroud,
Will me ignorance come to claim me?

Afeard I am not,
For I knew it was all too good
Still my heart is torn
All those things he said
Certes, all a lie!
A tithe of my sould beckons to die

The sorrow seeps through the lines relating well to any reader who has ever been heartbroken. I like the way you have used the serpent as a metaphor. Nicely done.
Just a tip though, for my computer weary eyes, blow it up in size, say to 12?

I wish I could play an instrument, because I love to write lyrics. Though I can sing quite well, I have that certain limit that only intrumental music can remedy. I am inspired by everything; peop.. more..
