The Burn Of A Dream

I felt the burn of a distant star
Just as it came close enough
Saw the fleeting of all my wishes
Every thread of my broken heart
Is carelessly within your grasp
You walk away and unwind my soul

Tell me why do we dream;
Placing wishes upon a star?
Sure their beautiful from where we stand
But as soon as its within our grasp
Its surface leaves the deepest scar.
