The Promise

The Promise

A Poem by ChinaDoll1928
"

I wrote this poem when I heard about my uncles divorce, I put myself into his position and this is what I got.

"
You promised
You made a vow,
You spoke it out loud,
You promised to be with me,
In sickness, and in health,
Until death do us part,
I'm not sick! I'm not dying!
I'm still here! I'm not dead!
Can't you see me?
Can't you hear me?
Cry out, for you, your name,
What happened to us,
Where has the love gone?
You promised,
Does it mean nothing to you?
Do I mean nothing?

I like this. I think you might need one more line at the end. it doesn't quite feel finished. Something like "Am I even here?"

Anyway, nice to read you.
