Swan song at the end of the road

Swan song at the end of the road

A Poem by Venus Valentine

Strung with divinity.

And laced with grief complexity intensity.

And with joy growth discovery.

The latter is worth every moment of the former.

A scream a cry a truth a lie;

one million tendernesses line the road that leads to you.

If lost,

take my hand.

There’s a map made from our experiences;

leading to a full spectrum of life.

We’ll ride this road forever;

the joy multiplying as we carry out our legacy,

chasing the last beautiful sunset.

And when we reach it we’ll look at one another,

as tears roll into the crevices of our smiles.

We won’t have youth like we used to,

but our swan song will be sung,

as we ride the sun back home.
