The Necessity of Haunted HousesA Poem by VennelaMargameThoughts on why people are fascinated with seeing ghosts. We want the privilege, and why Shouldn’t we take our turn? Deny The ghosts of shuttered suburbs
all You like, their company will
call.
Because we want them here. It
breeds The fetish for the dead. What
needs One think, but “Let me know, If body stops, can soul still go?”
If walls can weep and windows
glower, And Hell is stoked, Heaven’s
aflower, And eyes stare bright through
every crack, We might then trace our spirit’s
track.
Or so we’d like. It fills us full Of prickly afterlives, the pull Into Elysian earths, the dense Ethereal as our audience. © 2014 VennelaMargameFeatured Review
