Digital Lips

Digital Lips

A Poem by Velvetwolf55

Digital lips, individual whispers,
Thoughts of constant "I miss hers."
Unspoken words on a screen that between the both of us,
Only we know what they truly mean.

Her vibrations have to be the biggest sensation,
That brings me to exclamation.
The direct messages of our conversations
Bring me to the culmination
Of feeling like I’m going to burst
Into the 1's and 0's that made up our proclamation.

I sat here talking with her from thousands of miles away,
But yet I still can't help but say,
I feel her heavy, intoxicating breath near mine,
The one I only feel when her face is so close to mine.

I get goosebumps from the electrifying air,
The unspoken words on a screen,
Sending shivers to a heart
That's long been cold and died in vain from despair.
I send a gif of a virtual kiss,
Hoping she maybe feels the metaphysical digital lips.

Without thinking, I touch mine,
Wondering when we’ll be intertwined.
Looking at the screen once again,
Seeing the digital kiss, sad that it’s just pretend.
Thinking it’s not fair, we are quite the pair,
But so far apart, all we can do
Is share hearts, digital hugs,
And digital kisses, with digital lips.
