Love is an Easy Write

Love is an easy write,

A relatable reason for being,
A solid defense for strife,

The most powerful emotion,
That dwarfs any competing commotion,

Causes butterflies in chambers,
That once held gaping anger,

A dizzying gas, irrational past,
Addicts and amnesiacs keep going back,

So instead of a love piece unfolding,
I'll write about the crown molding.

sometimes when I look at my writing, I feel I am like an addict for my past...
I can't stop going back to it...over and over...and over and over...
Butterflies light...trying to have that soft landing somewhere that holds a flower of love.
But then it rains, and I hide...same place, back in the past.

I have noticed that a lot of your poetry seems to be reflective of your past. But writing is a therapy, and it is great to be able to reflect and write about cherished memories. Makes me think of a quote from Winnie the Pooh,
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

I have to confess, I don't write love poems that often. Having said that I have written a couple more recently. Should I venture there, my muse would run a mile at soppy sloppy. I try to find a different angle. My writes are more inspired by nature and I certainly have an affinity with trees.

I'm the same way, Chris. I don't write love poems often, and if I do, I try to make them more subtle or symbolic.
