Spring SnowA Poem by VelvetPotato
Painted purple mountains,
Against pastel sunset sky, Sloping greens of pine, Stand on Arching sedimentary lines, Misty stratus clouds, Layered for miles with the trees, The sunken sun gave way, To chilly, ominous gray, The familiar warmth of high light, Disappeared with the day, Instead, a bracing "prick" of wind, Said Spring Snow was coming in, Beaming moonlight of the night, Cast shadows on flakes in wee morning, While mule deer trot. . . AGHAST! A cabin snoring! . . .in search of grass, The water flakes came a'pouring, 'Til roofs and decks and cars were caked, In a continuous, wet, cloud of fluff, Made for mystical beauty and slushy stuff. © 2020 VelvetPotatoFeatured Review
