![]() Activation StationA Poem by VelvetPotato
Built up the courage,
To see a psychiatrist, She said, "Sit down, Sarah, And give me the gist!" "Well you see, doc, I've been feeling low, Wake up everyday without purpose, or of hope, A heaviness drags me wherever I go, And I lie to my loved-ones; they don't even know!" The doc, brow furrowed, a look of concern, "Sounds like you could use some Serotonin, This med can cause side effects, so please discern, You may experience some activation." That thought marinated, slithered around my head, I pondered my sluggishness, and feelings of dread, My lack of will to leave my bed, Finally, "I could use some activation" I said. . . . . . . And now it's Activation Station Activation Station The chores are done, house is clean, Floors are mopped, sinks pristine! Activation Station Activation Station Walked the dog, had a run, Concocted a dinner: homemade Cajun Activation Station Activation Station Had a smile, had a laugh, Talked to my man, and didn't get mad! Activation Station Activation Station Planted grass, Columbines, tomatoes, A hobby, Growth and nurture, Hey-Oh! Activation Station Activation Station Took my bad thoughts: cremation, Excuses, sadness, pity: ablation, Now it is just relief and elation, For greener grasses, Wider skies, And feeling myself again. © 2019 VelvetPotatoReviews
