Quest

Quest

A Poem by Vatsal Rohilla (account shifted)

Like butterflies search the garden for flowers,
I searched the world for lost love,
I traversed vast stretches of land
and even looked in the skies above.

But I found that love sitting just next to me-
glistening in your exquisite eyes.
My longing, my endurance finally paid off,
I finally won the ultimate prize.

I love your overall message of looking for something (anything, not just love) in all the wrong places, while overlooking the abundance right near one's hands & heart. I love the butterfly analogy & descriptions of nature in the first stanza. I would love to see it tied together with more natural-sounding observations to describe one's beloved in the second stanza. But regardless of this little nit-pick, the message comes thru loud & clear & relatable.

Personally, I love the choice of words; making it rhyme, yet still being able to maintain what you're trying to tell us.
Enjoyed it alot! :)

Thank you for your kind words of praise.
Lovely write. Mostly, we search around and ignore what is right next to us.

Beautifully written. Sometimes we search for things far and wide but find that it is close by. In this case you have been talking about love. The similitude of searching for love to butterflies searching for flowers in a garden is beautiful indeed.
I am glad that you won the ultimate prize.

Thank you for your kind and insightful words.
So romantic and beautiful. What woman's heart would not melt to have these words spoken to her. Love it:)

This is such a beautiful writing. Having searched everywhere for something, in this case love, and finding it beside you all along. I enjoyed this poem greatly.

Well done.

I guess, compared to the last line; 'I finally won the ultimate prize.' I guess I lost mine.

That is really sad, really. It is part and parcel of life. We have to deal with it.
