When our eyes meet

When our eyes meet

A Poem by Vatsal Rohilla (account shifted)
"

A complete, conventional ghazal with refrain and maqta. Maqta is the last couplet of a ghazal where the poet puts in his name.

"
She starts looking away when our eyes meet,
she simply makes my day when our eyes meet.

I commence speaking but I cannot complete
what I wish to say when our eyes meet.

I am resolute to rouse my feelings to her,
however, I stop mid-way when our eyes meet.

My eyes promise me a fixed gaze at her,
these eyes of mine betray when our eyes meet.

I am resolute to gift her flowers 'Vatsal',
I conceal the bouquet when our eyes meet.

Author's Note

Vatsal Rohilla (account shifted)
A conventional ghazal has at least five couplets with repetitive rhymes and refrain. All the couplets are of equal length and the last couplet includes the poet's name- maqta.

A beautiful poem once again. Love is a strange thing, isn't it? It's so pure, great, and strong, and yet, it can be so very stressful and annoying... actually I had a cat like that, she could be stressful and annoying yet she was very fun, I should have named her love. Sorry, back to your poem, I really liked it. This is one of those poem that everyone could enjoy and relate to, regardless of their taste in poetry.
Well done and keep on writing.
