So Easy to Forget...

So Easy to Forget...

A Poem by VassD
"

Words become sentences, sentences become stanzas, stanzas become...

"

So easy to forget now

The image all but lost

Shimmering, transparent

Shadowed in a paradox

Life without eternity

Eternity without pain

Mindless, blinding hypocrites

Ignore what should be plain

Blackened, velvet soul

Hearts chained by anger cold

Surrounded by the vilest dream

By imagination sold

Closed, harsh mind

Locked by your own hand

Bizarre, clueless, superstitious

Fearful, inconceivable demand

The last cruel threat

Of silent, cold anguish

Struggling to live

But at last all is extinguished

Author's Note

VassD
Another "poetry poker."

The transparent, shimmering image adeptly hides in a fathomless paradox
The hypocrisy of a painless, emotionless eternity blinds us to the sight of sensations kiss
Black, velvet souls held captive in the vilest dream imaginable
The bizarrity of a closed, superstitious mind descends into the fearful, inconceivable story
The final threat of anguish spoken in a silent tongue extinguish the last cries of struggle
