The Serenity of Loyalty...

The Serenity of Loyalty...

A Poem by VassD
"

Words become sentences, sentences become stanzas, stanzas become...

"

The serenity of loyalty

Evolved through harsh corruption

Melancholic in its tune

 Of silence, cold and cruel

Innocence, this power’s strain

Slicing like an arrow

Through silence in this atmosphere

Of hanging, petty mist

Staring at the strangers

Sight of them sets fire

Smoldering in dark suspicion

Ignite our traitor’s blood

Satisfy this jaded passion

Cold and callous pain

Floating in this ebony heart

Smother black of ink

Demonic heartbeats beat the same

Pound out lust’s mysterium

Echoing the heartbeat on

Linger in eternity

Author's Note

VassD
My Poetry teacher last year did something he called "poetry poker." Basically, you sit in a circle of about five people, and one person shuffles a bunch of index cards with descriptive words on them. There are 5 rounds, and you get 5 cards per round. With each round you have to take the words and make a sentence. At the end, you turn each sentence into a stanza.

Loyalty’s serenity had evolved into melancholic corruption
The power of innocence slices like an arrow through the petty mist
The sight of a stranger setting the fire of suspicion in our traitor’s blood
Satisfying the jaded passion in the smothering darkness of ink
The demon’s lust mysterium lingers in eternity
