Hope

Hope

A Poem by varnika
"

These unprecedented and challenging times have thrown a lot of us into the deep holes of despair and lost hope. This poem is a way to search for the power within that wouldn't let us give up.

"
Trapped In a jar,
I can not escape.
Wounded by my thoughts,
I feel enraged.

Never had we thought,
Such times shall we endure.
All one can do now,
Is to tightly cling to hope.

My thoughts are bizarre,
They keep me awake at night.
I see myself drowning,
before my tired eyes.

Yet each time I drown,
A force pulls me back in.
Is this a heavenly entity,
or the power I have within?

I wonder if it is hope,
The hope which came upon us,
In the form of Prometheus,
The symbol of courage and service to downtrodden and fragile.
