Lady In WaitingA Poem by VannyThis one was a tough one. Rough time in my life, but made a beautiful write. Hope you enjoy it.
I patiently await your answer
It hangs in the balance like the half moon hangs Illuminating the night sky I begin to feel restless and weary How can one rest when the reticent sound Of my distress attempts to follow me to my bed? I do not want loneliness to take the place of you I cannot bare any more callous, vigilant nights You are letting me drown in my own sorrow; Deeper than the deepest sea. God, please take this venom that floods my tongue So I do not save it; and fire it at his angelic face For when he is present, he makes everything exquisite He makes the world seem enchanted His golden eyes, his translucent skin... I would give anything for him to envelop me But who am I to wish, to implore such? I am but an unexceptional woman with exceptional adoration For the querulous warrior that haunts my dreams. I am blessed to have even been cursed with the adeptness to feel love. If I had never felt love, I'd have never known you. If I had never known you, I would not know myself... © 2013 Vanny |
