Afraid of the Dark

Afraid of the Dark

A Poem by Vanna Renee

Age six, and afriad of the dark.

     Look out the window.

Figure cold and stark.

     Agonizing fear to run away.

Pull my ankles,  make me stay.

I pray the Lord my soul to keep

At night I learn the Grim will Reap.

The monsters will munch upon their little toes,

Line ripped-out teeth in blood-cluttered rows.

Waking up is something that'll never happen.

This fact in which I sadden.

Scary tale indeed. I used to be afraid of my closet thinking something was in there. Favorite lines: The monsters will munch upon their little toes,
Line ripped-out teeth in blood-cluttered rows. Good poem.

The fears of youth. It is good to have faith is things of unknown and scary. Too bad we must get old and see the world with different eyes. A very entertaining short poem. Thank you.
