Sweet Melodies of Little Songbird

Sweet Melodies of Little Songbird

A Poem by Nellie Robles
"

This structured poem with five stanzas appreciates those who have given me comfort and happiness during my times of depression and heartache.

"

Sing blissfully for this broken heart.

Little songbird, send this heart away

Hidden from the source of misery

Pain fades into such sweet melodies.

Little songbird, send this heart away

Far, far away in a land of dreams

Pain fades into such sweet melodies

May nightmares never win victory.

Far, far away in a land of dreams

Lovely fires crackle in a hearth.

May nightmares never win victory

May nothing conquer my dearest light.

Lovely fires crackle in a hearth

Fair songbird, this is my golden home

May nothing conquer my dearest light.

I boldly defend my treasured joy.

Fair songbird, this is my golden home

Never send my broken heart away

I boldly defend my treasured joy.

Pain fades into such sweet melodies.

Author's Note

Nellie Robles
I wrote this poem for an Literature college class, and I had to write in a structured form, but I forgot what this structure pattern is called. Can anyone tell me what kind of poem this is?
