A Poem by Vanilla
"

In a dark and rhyming mood

"

The wind blows icy. It's bitter cold.

This land is a place for only the bold.

Above my head the sky grows gray.

The damp earth stinks.

The leaves decay.

But in this place of wretched gloom

This hateful void of lurking doom

My heart's desire I've come to find

For now I'm free of all mankind

No one disturbs my secret thoughts

and no more battles need be fought

Ahead are days, and weeks and years.

Here no one sees and no one hears.

I'll live my life in solitude

for I've no need of multitudes.

Alone I'll find true happiness.

The price I'll pay is lonliness.

Love this piece and appreciate the following lines:
"Alone I'll find true happiness.

The price I'll pay is lonliness."
Check the spelling of lonliness.

Wow! That was remarkable! It flowed perfectly, the rhyming was great! The images that lept into my mind took me away into a different world, where your thoughts and feeling pulsated. This is the best poem i've read in a long time!

I have no suggestions to make it better, it's perfect just the way it is.
Makes me wish though that this poem could be a stepping stone into a short story or something. The world you describe is dark yes, but dynamic as well.

My hats off to you on this one! Great Job!
