A Facade of FoliageA Poem by Vanessa
Walking through a densely separated bush,
Heart at ease with its pulse,
Head at an alleviated state,
The trees peel open to reveal
The seventh heaven of where my mind rests
Or holds preference to rest beside.
The sky.
“In an island in the sun,”
Shades opaque to the sorbet yellow sun,
This is “where the bad folks go when they die.”
But I’m content with that.
I like it here, roasting like a reptilian
Beneath the rays that warm my skin.
I could live here
In this state
While I live my life lazily
Yet passionately.
This flora of foliage
Decorating the façade of
Sky
Is the food for this mind set.
“Sometimes, all I do is watch the sky,”
He said.
And this I quite understood.
And settled to.
Passionately.
