Happily (N)Ever After

Happily (N)Ever After

A Poem by Vampyrica1995

O Anguish,

My only friend,

Why is it that we meet so frequently?

With every cigarette I plague my lungs,

To the scars that my blade causes,

To the deterioration of my positive thoughts

You are always there.

You never let me even play with Joy,

You feel as though I would leave you.

But who wouldn’t?

O Anguish,

Though you are always there for me,

I would give anything to spend my days with Joy

She would let my breath purify,

Let my scars heal,

And make my thoughts bright

No,

I have you,

And only you.

O Anguish,

My sweet friend,

My sweet lover,

Will you not take me unto your world?

Your world of the sleeping

Your world of the peaceful

My world is all pain,

And the best medication,

Is to end my world

‘Happily Ever After’

No,

It’ll be ‘Happily Never After’ in the end

An end of all to my world,

O how it sounds so sweet on my tongue
