Decisions

Decisions

A Poem by Vampaslick

Take a position,
Make your choice,
It's an easy decision,
When you find your voice.
Fighting with yourself should not be an option,
Nothing will be decided by arguing it out.
Don't hesitate, don't proceed with precaution,
Just listen to your heart and hear it shout.
Finally a stethoscope is found,
Take deep breaths and find what's within.
A leader in you has been unbound,
Go to where your soul's already been.
It doesn't take much to decide what is right,
But a heart divided only puts out half the fight.

Pretty clever and short guide to find the confident you inside your mankind.
I liked the first stanza because it talks about taking decisions, which usually is not so simple. The interesting thing it what says on the las verses:
"It's an easy decision,
When you find your voice."
Well this is hell true, but not so many people can do so, what is called emotional inteligence. In other words, choices are much more easy once you get to know yourself and what you want.

I agree and disagree at the same time with the second stanza, indeed we don't have to fight with ourselves, it is a foolish thing to do. Let's remember that all begins on our attitude, then the world reacts on it. I'm not so sure if we have to act without precaution. Maybe you should say "think before acting"? :D What its true is that we don't have to hesitate once we made a decision, as by doing so we would be listening to our hearts.

For last, I STRONGLY AGREE with the last verses. We can't take good decisions if our heart is not prepared (and our mind and intelligence too). After all, our heart is the one that stands us up when we fall, not our brain; willpower comes out of the heart.
Great poem!! :D

I think what hinders most people about decision making is the fear of what could of, might have happened if perhaps they made the other choice. A heart divided is still the heart within us, sometimes it's the head's sensibilities that get in our way. Enjoyed, nicely pen'd.

I find the wording clever and pleasant, but there's something lacking in the quality of the words you've chosen. Perhaps the words themselves don't have as much power to drive the poem to hit its pinnacle? It's certainly a perfectly good poem and I can most certainly agree with the message.

A proper flow to a poem well written, good job Vampaslick

So very true. The divided heart is its own weakness. You break the barriers with rhyme and meter and I like it.
