I own no right to the shadows of woe

I own no right to the shadows of woe

A Poem by Rilie

I own no right to the shadows of woe;
I breathe the air of freedom and luxury
While others have no chance to truly know
Of lives outside the state of penury.
I don't know true fear like those with no path
To a better tomorrow - a sanctum
Does not exist. For me, it does. Know no wrath
Like the fury of an ultimatum:
Choosing between life and death, a privilege
I own; for others, they have no choice. Yes,
It's quite enraging for me to allege
That I suffer; know not what is true stress.
Yet, I still feel the urge in my grieved chest
To embrace a darkness of endless rest.

As bad as we think we have it......
I can see a hint of guilt in this but more understanding than anything else. To be able to see the dark side in others and know its there, gives us the opportunity to count our blessings.

Nice job on this.
