Choices

Choices

A Poem by Valette
"

What choices do you have?

"

We have choices in all that we do

Choices in action or reaction

To be calm or to come unglued.

We have choices in all that we are

Choices to become the best we can

Or lament the events that led us afar.

Our choices make us who we be

The victim or the survivor

Is only a matter of how we see.

You have one life that only you can live

A set of gifts that only you can give

Only you can define what that really is.

The universe, it lays the law,

Your choice is to be a shining star

Or drown in the cosmic darkness.

Your gift is your choice, no matter what it is.

Hello, Courtney! :)
I've read a few of your posts today. I've found them thoughtful and interesting and caring. This one has an interesting structure. I enjoy structure as much as meaning in poetry. Have you written any rhythmic rhymes?
