The Perfect Man

The Perfect Man

A Poem by Valette

I met him at the store

And took him home to bed.

He was the perfect man-

Strong and silent

Deep and smart.

He took me by the hand

And lead me by the heart.

We went to a faraway place

And feasted on exotic food.

The adventures we shared as one

Have changed my life for good.

But all too soon it ended

The chapter drew to close-

A wrenching pain tore my breast

As I bid, “Good-bye, my love.”

Then I closed the covers of my book

And returned back to my room.

The last two lines was a great ending ..love it..creatively penned in the essence of its natural flow and simplicity..that is what makes great poems

what happened, did he run off with the Maid!?!

many men are glorified pigs & certain women are troughs of murky slop,

but somewhere in the wild gardens there are feral javelinas

oblivious to barbed wire and barnyard fences

digging the earth for Ruby Scented Truffles
