Silence

Silence

A Poem by PaopuKitten
"

...

"

Open your mouth

Speak no words

Carry the weight on your shoulders

Feeling so melancholy

The shadow around you

Starts to fill in the color

Actually no drains it...

I had just hoped

Things would have

Been so much better...

The day is shorter

The nights are longer

And seeing as there is

Something else taking

The chokehold on your heart

And sometimes your voice

No longer you're talents exist

And then on the floor

A shell of you're smiling face

And all around the memories

That had once been remembered...

Think no longer in the apologies

For the people stung from

Your ways...

Needing help?

"Just shut the f**k up and stop complaining..."

The only thing said to me by my own mind, forever a prisoner...

There's a few grammar errors here and there, and the structure of it can seem really choppy at times, but overall I like it. The theme is very sad. It sucks that one can a prisoner to their own mind just carry all these burdens. Silence can hurt.

I can't help but read this and be reminded of a few lines by Lupe Fiasco:

"I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence. Fear is such a weak emotion that's why I despise it. We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth. So scared of what you think of me, I'm scared of even telling you."

Anyways, thanks for sharing. Take care, and don't be afraid to speak up for yourself.
