"Heart's Flight"A Poem by Valentine
"Heart's Flight"
If the heart could soar On eagles' wings, T'would never wish To land on earth again. Oh what wonders one could see, While flying, oh so loftily, And if t'were storm clouds ahead, One could bank, then fly overhead. Rising above all of earth's pain, Wings outstretched to catch the wind, Free to look where naught has been And to choose when to descend. Landing high on mountain crests, Avoiding valleys that depress, Feeding hunger so easily Then once again---flying free. Yes...if the heart could soar, Upon an eagle's wings, T'would never wish to land Upon this earth---again. [P&C] Valentine © 2012 ValentineReviews
