"Me"

"Me"

A Poem by Valentine

   "Me"

No one knows, or ever sees.
The inner parts of what is me.
So adapt at covering yesterday...
All that is shown...is today.

No one knows...what is hidden inside,
The locked cells where thought abides.
Whats in the past is never shown;
Buried in black...it remains unknown.

Yet...everdays thoughts...return to mind;
Returning to agonize...with tortures...unkind.

Beautifully sad - I just recently started revealing my inner demons to the people who are closest to me. I have so many closets full of skeletons and regret and they have been haunting me my entire life. The more feelings that i divulge, the lighter i feel. However, I still cry once in a while knowing that those thoughts will remain - just when I think that they have disappeared they sneak back into my soul. They must have just been hiding! This poem reminds me of how I feel. I really, really wish you the best and a peaceful way to put your torture to rest

Well done, Kathy. We all are two people. The face we show the world and the one we reserve for ourselves. Good write.

This is another poem in which I loved the thought. There is a lot of real-estate which we can cover when speaking about our inner selves which is perennially hidden, from even the closest friends and relatives. Our hidden insecurities and fears are secretly tucked away.

There is one typo which I would like to point, "everdays thoughts" - Everyday right?

Ashan, no, it was published this way when edited for the newspaper I once wrote for. Kathie
Never thought of it that way before, that what others see is just us today, but so true. Like light being invisible, we only see its reflection off of objects, yet if we could see it, we would be blinded by it constantly...Maybe it's just as well we can't read minds, we would all go crazy.
Beautifully captured, as ever.

True, if people were given the ability to read our thoughts...I do not know what kind of a world it would be. I really love this Valentine. Seems am going to shelve all of them.

The inside not knowing is why I always say you cannot judge until you have walked in another's shoes. Judge not least ye be judged, or something like that. Nicely done.

Sad life! Kathie
We all wear a smile quite well when that smile isn't necessarily a true one...beautifully real and felt Valentine...

Heart wrenching yet so beautiful..!
Many of us have a part in past, which we would like to erase from memory or pack it in a suitcase of forgotten things and through it in the river. All this to feel lighter and free.
But I guess life comes in the combo pack of good and bad, and we have to dwell in both the times.
Its all about moving on.
Great write!
Gave me so much to ponder..
