"Broken Wings"

"Broken Wings"

A Poem by Valentine

   "Broken Wings"

When love is new, we seem to fly,
Like the wild birds in the sky.;
And the heart is happy and free,
Just as it was meant to be...
And love rises upon the wings,
Of promises and all good things.
Never wanting, to come to rest,
And lie within a lover's breast.
It flies free...until the day,
One grows lax...and it flies away.
Falling to earth with a broken wing,
Never to fly... or soar again.
We try to mend the broken wing,
To remove the lies and all sad things;
But no matter how hard we try...
T'will never again soar as high.
When a heart is broken then later ,mended
You never forget when it was left untended.
And like the wild bird with the broken wing,
It will never fly high or freee again.
A broken heart...is like a broken wing,
For it will never soar...as high again.

The comparison of a broken heart to a broken wing that you made is quite a creative and awesome one. At first, this piece reminded me of something out of the Romanticism era. Good job :)

You're welcome
A little love philosophy here, rather general in tone, however. I would really like to see you write one based on your own experience in life - as I know you have a great deal to tell. Leave the birds and the wings and the other good things, and come down to earth with what really happens in a bad relationship. I know you can do it!

typo in "free".......great poem, reminds me of Rod Stewart's song later recorded by Sheryl Crow " The First Cut is the Deepest".

A wonderful analogy of a broken heart with the broken wing of a bird! It is true that once a certain kind or amount of damage is rendered, it is irrevocable, and causes one great sadness and grief!
Your verse is flowing and filled with wisdom!
