Eyes aglow With love's flame.

No remembrance...

Of her name.

Yet eyes speak.

Of recalled bliss.

Long nights...

Soft touches,

Sweet kiss.

Eyes question

The inner flame;

Yesterdays love...

Passion the same.

Just a flash...

Of the past.

 

Forgotten name...

Love did not last!

Nice work, as always. Sadly, I have forgotten many names over the years. Sometimes on the street or in a restaurant I'll see a face that triggers a memory. I can suddenly see clearly the face that they remind me of, but I can't remember the name. Not only that, but I sometimes can't even remember how I knew them. It's just an image that's been lurking there in my memory for I can't imagine how long. Funny the ways the mind works. Well, my mind at least.

funny how your poem brings up past "flashes" ... and i feel comfortable and find myself with well wishing prayers for lost loves ..even the most painful ...the time healing has proved itself a sweet balm in my life ..the broken can take solace in it when able but some never recover ... and that, my dear friend Valentine, is really heart breaking :(( especially appreciate the edge to this one in your closing lines ..a fine contrast to the peaceful feelings of the rest of "Forgotten"..

If it is too painful perhaps we are better off without that one. I have a couple from years ago I had to forgive their actions...I as a Christian,,,but it makes me feel better as both are gone. Kathie

those situations loose the hold they otherwise would have on our life .. forgiveness is not only Divine but necessary for human peace :)
