Love is pain...

fraught with sorrow.

Destroying today...

and each tomorrow.

When a heart fills with love,

that refuses...to die;

All of the "might have beens"

just pass it by.

Leaving it to wither...

alone on the vine.

Once it loved deeply,

now  it slowly lies dying.

Living in a long ago,

that shant be again.

Broken branch on the ground,

bent and just lain.

Love is pain that slowly,

chokes the broken heart;

Leaving tomorrrow...

no new place to start.

The pain of love, is the deep pain of loss. When you love someone so completely, your heart is so full, that the pain of their absence, is so overwhelming...it even, feels like your drowning. Very touching and heartfelt write, Valentine.
