"Men Do Cry"

"Men Do Cry"

A Poem by Valentine

    "Men Do Cry"

The moonlight hits the window pane,
Lightly lit shadows now softly lain;
Upon the bed...where love once lie,
Before fate stepped in and said good-bye.

Shadows appear against...the window shade.
A king sized bed...still left unmade.
Perfume on pillows...bring the remembrance of,
Nights held tight...clasped close with love.

Two o'clock in the morning, still wide awake,
For love walked out...for its own sake.
"Men do cry"...when left and all alone,
Fearing, even her memory soon will be gone.

Moonlights glow...brings back thoughts of when,
Loved lived here...but it never will...again.

Where love 'once' lie??? or where love 'did' lie - (to preserve your rhyme) before fate stepped in... The obvious word is where love once 'lay', though of course, that queers the 'goodbye' rhyme. 'Even her memory soon will be...' or 'will soon be gone?' Gees, I'm being picky today, aren't I? However, I quite like this little muse, though I tend to think that 'never will again' is a little overstated. He'll probably be over it in a week and focussed on the blond in the Dry Cleaners. Men are so shallow, aren't they?

LOL reading this made me think of Dale. Love still lives here even though he doesn't. Another heartfelt piece as always. God bless.
