"Amulets"

A Poem by Valentine

       "Amulets"

Charmed by life and all of it's dreams.
By rapture held, with all that life brings.
Mesmerized with all that is offered in sight;
Lost in ecstasy...charmed by delight.

Enraptured by a look, a touch, a smile,
Overpowered by...her continuous guile.
Fascinated and drawn...to life's flame,
Ravished by all life missed...and thats a shame.

For life can not offer,  all here and now;
Waiting for Heaven, takes a life long vow;
Where all riches will be offered for free,
And all of life's pleasantrys...are awaiting thee.

In my book the word 'amulet' means a charm carried to ward off evil, so I don't really get a solid connection here. I think you're usiing it in a different sense. (The word 'pleasantry's should be 'pleasantries' however, though it's interesting to note that it doesn't show up in the Australian Pocket Oxford Dictionary that I keep on my desk).
