"You Knew"A Poem by Valentine
"You Knew"
You knew me... before I was born... That long ago bright autumn morn. Knew all of the mistakes I would make, All of the foolish chances I would take.
You knew...I would disappoint You for many years... Bring to my family...countless tears. So easily You could have stopped their pain All of the heartache at their feet I have lain.
You knew...and still allowed me to be Reeking havoc for all of the world to see. Going through life on a path cut so wide, Never once thinking...to ask You inside.
You knew...that I would cause pain and lie, Lay deep in the gutter, often wanting to die. Yet You sent me down, knowing what I would be All of the things I would do in front of "Thee."
You knew...one day I would sink so low I would start to drown and need help so. Somehow a lifeline was...in front of me, Pulling me up so that I...could finally see.
You knew...I would weep...and fall to my knees. Seek out Your face and beg You please, Forgive me for all...and let me come in To the love and forgiveness that comes from Him.
You knew...and still allowed me to be, Knew one day I would cry out and come to thee.
You knew...You always knew. Thank You Abba.
