    "A Single Rose"

 

     So much beauty,

in one single rose;

     Petals cut perfect,

sweet effervesence flows.

     For many...it takes,

a massive bouquet;

     For a lover to speak,

his ..."I love you"...today.

     But one single flower,

that comes picked by you;

     Speaks more words to this heart,

than a dozen could do.

Hi there Valentine,
A direct message is not missed in the simple expression of a hand of love extended. Red Rose is the one in my mind's eye as your poem I read.

When, many years ago my husband first tried to get my attention it was with a single red rose and a sprig of baby's breath with a little poem on the card. Iv'e never forgotten his expression.
A world of meaning behind a single rose. Also the very fragrance is so clean and stirring to a person's being, just like true love.
Your poem was just what I needed this morning.

I do not feel very darling this day. The idea for this came when I had received a dozen roses from a female friend while in the hospital. My husband came in with a smaller bouquet. He felt his was not good enough. It took some time but I assured him that coming from him, it was more than enough. Kathie
