"He Cries"

"He Cries"

A Poem by Valentine

           "He Cries"

Tears slowly running, down sculpt cheeks,

Leaving a proud man, humble and weak.

Tears born...from a sad good-bye,

Proud man shattered, and so...he cries.

They only fall, when he is alone,

Or late at night...in his bed of stone.

Much too proud, to let others know,

He is dying from pain, but it does not show.

Not able to express all he feels out loud,

He hides his feelings when in a crowd.

But late at night, all of his pain shows,

Proud and humble, down"upon" his knees he goes.

He roars out at "God", then is ashamed.

Cries out in anger...and accepts all of the blame.

Then he asks "God", why He did this to him?

Then ashamed...asks for forgiveness again.

Morning comes, and he wipes the tears away,

Walks through others...throughout the day.

Proud man shattered, but he cannot speak,

Refuses to admit...for once he was weak.

Night time comes, and tears fall free,

He wonders "if" this... always will be?

He begs from God...then roars in shame,

Not knowing whom on earth to blame.

Tears fall down cheeks from a sad good-bye;

Proud man so shattered, he roars...then he cries.

Valentine,
"He Cries"
And He sees us. He sees our tears-your papa's tears, knows us inside out and just loves us.
"Tears slowly running down sculpt cheeks. Leaving a proud man humble and weak."
I thought that using the phrase; "bed of stone" very fitting as well. There is struggle here and just a great battle.
I also read your other reviews and that your were relating your father's experience regarding your mother's great illness and he afraid to loose her.
A poem like this is precious because we all have pain and struggle and to know that others have been where we may be and visa versa is helpful. One more facet of the diamond that God is making you and your family.
thank you and bless you in this sharing poem.

In the quiet moments, a proud man shows his true emotions....but no one ever sees. Great character study. Such a sad scene. Lydi**

No wonder the three libraries. When people are young they need to really invest in their future in terms of relationships, friendships and also financially because one can not leave without the other. We need money but we need more of people, family, friends because that is the true wealth. Well done Valentine

I have been seen crying from time to time. But, these occurrences have all happened recently, as I am now in my later years. Men, when we are younger, think to be seen crying as a sign of weakness. Where that comes from, I do not know, I can only surmise. Now, as I am older. I care not what people think as I am much more in tune with my emotional epee-center. My feelings are my own and I owe nobody else an explanation.

left alone, but ashamed to have others see his reaction...men seem to be like that...always feeling the need to be so strong---not willing to be vulnerable...but i think it is really okay for men to cry...wish i could...but life has seen fit to end that---stoically i face life...cry with movies, but in the reality of the world...tears are kept inside...

just the way.
