Echoed Thoughts

Echoed Thoughts

A Poem by Valentine
"

Thinking too much this week on the family that I have lost...too young and too soon..mom and dad, I love and miss you, Spence, Daniel, Bill and Lauretha [siblings]..I ache to see you and hear your voices.

"

        Echoed Silence

Old thoughts echoing through my mind,

Of a far away place, in a long ago time.

Voices that once spoke...are no longer heard.

Favorite memories...only unspoken words.

Emptiness encloses...then completely surrounds;

Locking the doors to any movement or sound.

Breath...that sounded 'life' into the ear,

If breathing is gone...how can there be life here?

Feeling and touching...than silent cries.

Heart's broken...no more words of good-bye.

Searching and seeking...for a familiar face,

That the sound of silence...has now replaced.

Setting here longing...to just hear your voice,

Why is death...Gods final choice.

Still loving and missing all of you, I

will see you when I join you in Heaven.

a palpable pain. It is good to write such feelings as their is healing in putting sorrow to page.
I think of my deceased parents and grand parents on a daily basis and they've been gone for decades. It seems it isn't with pain that I reminisce and remember now, but with an odd joy. The veil between here and there is very thin indeed and I suspect they aren't that far away for I actually feel very close to them even in death.

You sound as though you ave endured a terrible loss. I can feel such pain in this piece. I am sorry for your pain. You use words well and have conveyed much without sentimentality. This is well done.

Kathie, this is lovely and speaks of that longing to be reunited with loved ones so dear. I spoke with Debby yesterday and am going to call her again tomorrow before her Doctor's appt. She said you are not feeling well? If you need someone to pray with, I would be glad to call you as well....send me your number if you want...

A very sad piece. I don't think death is ever a "choice" of God but rather that God is able to create life from death. I placed a dead dried kernal of corn in the ground and it returned a thousand fold but the original kernal could not be found; the same for rotten tomatoes and potatoes. We grow old, we go to seed and what we have left is left behind but what we are becoming is greater. Blessings.

An honest emotional piece, I'm sure many can relate to. Wonderfully written, a great write.
