memories walk

slowly through your

heart and your mind.

Uncover pictures

of the bliss

and heaven found

in sweet olden times.

Please let me

take a few

moments to bask

in the distant past.

The long days before

our love fell apart

with no chance

to ever last!

Just what would it take,

to reach inside of

your  heart

and reach your soul?

Find the broken

pieces needed

to make our lives

again whole.

Do we really want to stir up old memories of a love that turned sour? Do we really need to revisit that old pain again? Everyone gets nostalgic from time to time, but tastes change as life goes on, and certainly I know, from personal experience, that a love once shared many years ago could never be rekindled, because the parties involved have changed too; in fact the beginnings of those changes may well have precipitated the initial drifting apart. Better that we stick with what we've got than to yearn for something that was never meant to be.

The work is very pointed and a bit sad. I found it more like a short paragraph. The work flows very well and the short lines tend to blend together as I read it. I like it very much bot wouold like to have had more!

love that, and i adore the repetition of it. this approach (however different from your old poem) is a beautiful thing in itself. it flows perfectly, and i love what you're saying throughout. and the repetition, as i said, really worked perfectly
