Try to recapture

just what is needed,

to help me make

my life again whole.

Will you let old

memories walk

slowly through your

heart and your mind.

Uncover pictures

of the bliss

and heaven found

in sweet olden times.

Please let me

take a few

moments to bask

in the distant past.

The long days before

our love fell apart

with no chance

to ever last!

Just what would it take,

Find the broken

pieces needed

to make our lives

again whole.

I do not know If I would want to undo God's will, but I do wish I could live a lot of those days over again. I was very fortunate to have married a sweet and thoughtful man. Kathie

The sentiment in this one reminded me of those Hollywood greats that married then divorced only to remarry down the line - Burton and Taylor for example - no one would have said they didnt love each other but they had to keep defrosting their love after their separations otherwise they wouldnt have been able to notch up so many 'big days'.
Knowing how to do it though - theres the rub - and I bet if two people want it badly enough it will become a reality and it will be settle down to being as natural as the first time.

Now, this a new approach! I like it. It would not work with any ex-lover that I have ever had other than maybe one. You go to an ex-lover and ask him to participate with you in reaching into his heart and soul to stir up old memories, feelings and such in an attempt to become whole again.
Whether that means as a couple again, you do not say.
I like the poem and I think that the idea is novel.
