Earth's SoulA Poem by Valentine
Earth's Soul
As all of nature, goes to sleep; When winter's snow, drifts down. All creaking timber, sighs and weeps, For earth's soul, goes...underground. Cold ice covers, land's dying warmth, As bitter coldness, enters inside. Burying all ugliness, where no real harm; Can come to what, the earth and ice hide. For a season of time, the world stands still, Chilled by the brisk freezing breeze. When suddenly...the sun shines at will, Slowly thawing, the long winter freeze. Like warm hands held fast... to the earth, It once again the ground... shows us its soul; Opening like, another miracle of birth, When the sun and ground are again whole. The sighing and shaking, of the warm land; As all of the undergrowth pushes through. Mother Nature needs... no helping hand, As she awaits spring's rebirth... anew. Then earth's soul is once again free; Opening up and baring itself for all to see. Valentine © 2017 ValentineReviews
