Night Shadows

 

                      "Night Shadows"

 

Shadows appear...causing all light to disappear.

Slowly leaving all, deep in shades of black and grey.

For love  was the only apparent  light...

That brought sunshine to the darkest of nights.

But love died... and shadows walked in,

Obscuring all traces, of where it had been.

Night cannot warm the heart, frozen and cold.

As all warmth walked out, closing life's door.

Shutting out all light that was left by loves warmth...

And you...all that remains are shadows turning grey,

And the ice...that loves departure makes.

what i like the most about this poem is all the story that you leave me the freedom to fill in .. how fiery the romance, how long (or short) the years, how tragic the loss .. and my impressions of what depression can do ..as it seeps through the cracks of our broken selves .. :{{
