Nowhere

Nowhere

A Poem by Valentine

      Nowhere
He ran the race, but it got him no where.
For in his hurry... to get through life,
Eyes straight ahead, not looking left or right;
He missed the beauty in the face of his wife.
Over looked God not stopping to think twice.
Eyes were blind to the lives he helped create,
Much to busy in his mad race through life.
Now he sits alone, growing old and gray;
Wondering why everyone just walked away?
He ran life's race, he thought he had won.
Sought family and friends, but there were none.
He won his race...but it was a race to nowhere.

no problem
A very depressing account of someone so absorbed in one aspect of their lives they forget to tend the garden.

John, I think we all know someone like that. Kathie
Good character study here. The rhyming was wonderful and there is a good lesson in this one. Lydi**

Thank you. A lot of people are to much interested in self. Kathie
This is amazing. You've done a great job portraying the world we live in. We keep running in this rat race hoping to come first at the end, but what we forget is the fact that this is a never ending journey, life is not a race to win, its a journey that has to be completed and "death" is the only destination. The most precious things in lie are family, friends, health... But people think money is beyond everything; only to realize in the end that there are far more precious things in life.

This is a really good write.

this holds such an important message - one invests all their time in moving forward in life, to achieve as much as possible in the least time, and by doing this, becomes ignorant to the beauty of life that will bring happiness and a true feeling of accomplishment

Many are so busy getting ahead that they neglect home and family. There has to be an even balance. .. read more
This is really good! The scary thing about life is we can sometimes ruin it ourselves...but the good thing about it is we can get back up and try to rewrite our chapter to make it better. :) Well done my friend!
