          When Hope Departs

Memories scatter into the wind...

Leaving naught where they have been.

Truth disappears...in the lies,

That often comes, before... goodbye.

Shattered lives...shattered years,

Pain and heartache amidst the tears.

Lies that flow off of the tongue,

Leaving a heart...and soul so numb.

Trying to recall some better times,

Impossible...as the heart does find.

The past is much harder to wish to recall,

When sad words have... erased it all.

Some sad part of life while cannot be forgotten, I think only way to erase is to replace with new happy thoughts.

yes, like Tori said...you do rhyme so free and easily we almost don't even notice it as we read...it just is there, comfortable.
and this poem...reminds me of my first marriage...how it went bad, how it was so sad at the end...i feel it.

Rhyming comes naturally for me. Get the Comprehensive American Rhyming Dictionary, it will help you if you are having trouble. Someone got me one but I have never had to use it. Kathie
