Open the portals, invite the world inside.

Bare your soul, show were ...you abide.

Inside of each heart, dwells heartache and pain;

Open the door to life, start over again.

For no life is spared...a trace of sadness;

Just be thankful, it is mixed with gladness.

yes ... we need to do just that! .. what a difficult thing this poem challenges us to do ..go inside and be brutally honest .. we do all have a measure of the whole cup of life ..if not then something is most surely wrong .. second line of first couplet ... ? "were" or where? ;) "Inside" brings to mind (i think it is Proverbs) that ..the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike ... and so it seems with all thing eh!? closing couplet for me is where it is at .. be thankful in all things .. not this thing nor that thing ...but allllllllll things ;)) we do have a hard time eing thankful with things we don't have on our own agendas ..:{
