"Last Rose"
Does summer's last rose know, that with each sunset Winter comes closer and death is nigh? Or a broken angel, , with torn wings Return to flight, to do God's things? If a soaring eagle flies, yet never knew Heaven, Could he fly the angel back, To the place she once dwell in? Can the last rose of summer hold its head high, Until all winter's cold, passes it by? In life can impossible daydreams come true, And if so, could God return me to you? Would the talons of the eagle, take me in flight, Carry me until Heaven and you were in sight? Does summer's last rose know , with each setting sun, Winter approaches, and deaths angel has won? Will the soaring eagle ever know about Heaven? Or a broken angel return, to the place it once dwell in? Give me a few weeks of flight, upon the eagle high above. That I might once again remember , the sweet sensation of, Wind upon my face and feel the air beneath my wings. Let summer's last rose live, to know and see these things. © 2008 Valentine© 2015 ValentineAuthor's Note
