"Imperfect Face"

"Imperfect Face"

A Poem by Valentine

     "Imperfect Face"

In the garden of flowers.

Sits one perfect rose,

Catching every eye

In vanity... she grows.

Growing beside of her,

An imperfect face

Wilted and just hanging,

Draped... in shrouded lace.

Finally... catching the eye,

Of the gardener's shears,

Shriveling, she tried to hide;

She hung her face in fear.

Deciding to take her home

And not cast her away;

Placed in a vase with water,

She stands today.

Growing... so profusely

She cast away all fear,

And... in silent contentment ...

Stayed in full bloom... for years.
