"Blind"A Poem by Valentine
"Blind"
Seeing the forest, but not the trees, A hornet's nest, but not the bees. Looking at...a broad scenic view; But, still blind...to all around you. Eyes wide open...stumbling around blind, Mean to your family...to strangers...kind. Wishing for...the American Dream... Too lazy to work...and so you scheme. You hurt others, then shut out their pain; Apply yourself...but only when you can gain. Curse the daily news...and your God; Serve yourself, and upon God...you trod. You walk around blind, wishing for gain; Shove aside, the ill... and the maimed. You look blankly at life, blind to the view; Of beauty and pain, on the earth around you. You look at the forest, never seeing a tree; Get down in the dumps, then ask God..."Why me?" Valentine
